They adapt well to rural and suburban environments, as long as they are provided with sufficient exercise opportunities. Due to their gentle nature, Borzois are typically good with children and other pets, especially when they are socialized from a young age. They are not overly demanding but do require regular mental and physical stimulation to stay happy. This breed is not ideal for apartment living due to their size and need for regular exercise, but they can thrive in homes where they are treated with respect and given room to be themselves.
