Originally bred for hunting vermin, Terriers are bold, energetic, and have a strong prey drive. They are known for their independence, which can make training challenging. Despite being small or medium-sized, they are fearless and make excellent watchdogs. Terriers require a lot of mental and physical stimulation. Grooming is often needed for their wiry coats.
